Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR)

CMAR is a project delivery method where the owner hires a construction manager early in the design phase to provide input on cost, schedule, and constructability–and then that same firm takes on the role of general contractor during construction. In short, CMAR combines professional construction management during design with the cost and performance accountability of a general contractor, giving owners more control and reduced financial risk.

Pre-Construction

Every project requires a clear blueprint for success. During the pre-construction phase, we collaborate with our design team and the client to define the scope of work, design parameters, requirements, timeline, and budget.

We conduct constructability and quality control analysis to identify any potential challenges while also finding savings that will minimize construction costs. We utilize the expertise and experience of our entire team to assemble realistic project costs.

 

Design-Build

Historic Restorations

Historic restoration for a general contractor involves repairing, preserving, and rehabilitating historically significant buildings while maintaining their original character, materials, and craftsmanship. It is nothing like renovating a modern building. When restoring historic buildings, it’s not just about updating or increasing convenience; period details must be kept accurate, especially if the building is on the National Registry of Historic places. Here at Tyler Construction, we pay attention to all the details and remain in constant communication with both the owner of the building and the architect to ensure that all protocols are being followed. We make sure the building stays accurate, down to its last carved moulding.

Providing high-quality, historically accurate restorations requires patience and time, which is why we will never rush through your restoration. Instead, we will work closely with you and our architect to ensure the restoration is historically accurate and exactly what you want.

We understand that in order to restore your building to its former glory, our architect will have to research the layout of your building, the original materials used, original floor plans, and images. From there, those images and plans will be used to create a restoration plan to guide our efforts in restoring your building’s interior or exterior. We will take the time to properly source all materials, ensuring the accuracy of the details and sticking as closely as possible to the original materials used on your building.

Having a knowledgeable expert on your team from the inception of your project can help ensure its success. At Tyler Construction, the safety of our employees is paramount. We strive to make every worksite as safe as it can be by building a culture of excellence in safety. It starts with hiring the best in the business, then providing them with regular training to keep them at their best. Efficiency and safety go hand in hand.   Our employees participate in OSHA training classes that refine their skills and teach them how to maintain a safe work environment.

That’s not all; every one of our superintendents goes through an in-depth training course that’s 30 hours in length to ensure they keep each project running smoothly and within current safety recommendations and guidelines. This approach is clearly working, as we have gone over three years without a lost-time accident, and are the recipients of the Safety Gold Award from Johnson Controls as well as other safety recognition.
