Work Description: CA Johnson consists of a large renovation of the existing school classroom space and a 73,000 SF addition of a gymnasium with full men & women locker facilities and a 600 seat auditorium with full stage fly/rigging equipment and orchestra pit. New construction included masonry block and steel structural support system with large spanning steel trusses and joists. Exterior veneer consists of face brick with an accenting brick color, cast stone, and metal composite panels. Aluminum curtain wall system provided the large window openings and entrances. Finishes included painted block and drywall, acoustical panels, painted exposed ceilings, acoustical ceilings, VCT in corridors, carpet in offices, ceramic tile in the lobbies and restrooms, wood gym and stage flooring, as well as numerous other accessories and supporting equipment. Renovations included demolition and replacement of existing front lobby, existing bathrooms, cafeteria space, science labs, art labs, and some classroom spaces. Areas received new casework, flooring, and finishes.
